Photoshop metal text styles

Today’s Photoshop freebie download is a set of PSD text styles in Photoshop. This is a unique metal text style for a shiny steel, gold and chrome text effect. Download the PSD file and check out the text styles applied for each text to bring out the resultant effect. Along with the PSD file, .ASL file is also included so you can quickly apply the effects to your desired text.

1) Instructions on how to use the text styles

To use these text effects, all you need to do is to copy the layer style by right-clicking on a text layer and click “Copy Layer Style” and then apply the effect to your own text by right-clicking on your text layer and click “Paste Layer Style”.  Increase or reduce your font size until you get the correct result of the effect, or you can adjust the layer styles to see the desired result.

2) How to install the .ASL file

Copy the .asl file (metal-styles-graphicsfuel.asl) to Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop \Presets\Styles

Friends, today’s freebie is something handy for Photoshop graphic designers.  It’s a couple of layer text effects for web and graphic designs to create some nice “gold” and “glass” effect to your text.

The text styles comes in .ASL file along with the PSD file. Go ahead and apply the text effect to your desired text quickly and you can also tweak it to fit your text size. The fonts used in the work is Pacifico regular with text size 200 points.

How to use the text styles

Copy the layer style by right-clicking on the text layer from the downloaded PSD file (golden-glass-text-effect.psd) and click “Copy Layer Style” and then apply the effect to your own text by right-clicking on your text layer and click “Paste Layer Style”. The styles are 100% scalable, just use the “Scale Effect Command”.

Friends, today’s freebie is quite interesting yet easy to use. I have created a set of 3 Photoshop Text Styles called Retro Grunge, Gold and Stone effects for your Photoshop texts. These can help you save a lot of time while creating similar text effects.

Each style can be used for different text sizes — all you have to do is to scale up or scale down the text effects. Apply the style to your text and right-click on the blending option of the text layer and select “Scale Effects”. A pop-up window opens up which helps you increase or decrease the effects. Pretty simple and easy.

To install the text styles, just double click the .ASL file “retro-gold-stone-text-styles” or drag and drop it onto the Photoshop. You can also open up the Styles panel (Window > Styles) and drag and drop the .ASL file.

In the download zip file, I have also included the PSD file where you can actually see each effect and textures included. Go ahead and download the file and play around!
